I am obsessed with this article and agree 100%! I believe our overall health - as a family and a society has been suffering due to the lack of the women embracing their feminine roles. And yes it it so hard in our current society, they made it that way on purpose that we need to survive on two incomes, but we can shift it and yes it comes with enormous sacrifice (currently living that so I can be home). However, with our technology now, compared to our grandparents, as mothers we can tend to our homes and still make money in a way that works WITH our biology than the 9-5 non stop hustle that we have been fed our entire lives.

I agree that feminism is the issue…especially what it is now. I am all for options, and why women first fought (1st wave feminism) however, it was all manipulated, by most likely the patriarchal elitists to get us to where we are now.. a broken society. But I truly believe more and more of us are waking up, simplifying and making the sacrificing now, so our children can live better!

I truly just adore you so much and so happy we have connected.. we should talk more about this off here 🤍

Oh Jennifer thank you so much! I so appreciate your support and resonance.

I also agree that first wave feminism was a different thing entirely, although like you say also probably part of a bigger agenda!

I love what you’ve written about working in a way that supports our biology. You’re so right. We are so fortunate to have these avenues available to us that make it easier to make that choice to be “at home” however that looks!

I wish we could connect in person too! Kindred spirits 😍

Ooof this hit me deep. And so it bloody should. I don’t feel I can fully articulate what I want to express in the haze of illness but I feel there are two parts of my internal narrative screaming at each other... my inner feminine knows this to be the truth but honestly, I haven’t enjoyed being a stay at home mother and (unofficial (almost autocorrected to unnoticed, ironic!?)) homemaker as much as I thought I would. I knew I was made for this yet have now reached a point where, 3 years in, I’m looking for change (somewhat out of circumstance too I suppose)

But on reflection of your words, I don’t think this is my fault; the system we’re mothering in, doesn’t support us so of course we’re finding it hard, impossible even. I feel so connected to the vision of our ancestors in so many ways, yet feel so disconnected from that in reality. What’s worse is that I now feel I’ve missed my chance to ‘make the most of it’ whilst in a situation that could’ve supported it now being over.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to reflect and feel into this 🤍

Oh sweet heart. Feeling you in your confliction. I don’t know if it helps but I see you as a wonderful mother & home-maker. I see the way you tend to your home, nourish your child (and your friends!) and create an environment of calm in your life.

I can imagine it must be scary standing on the precipice of something new, but as Jennifer says below, it’s not necessarily about the woman working a 9-5 or not working at all, it’s finding a way of working that flows WITH not against motherhood.

I’m sorry you’ve felt that struggle that we mothers often do. We really bloody need the village. And I’m so grateful for your role in my village. You’re amazing ♥️

Thank you for your beautiful words, yes that does help, hugely 🤍

Mmm yes, flowing with motherhood sounds wonderful doesn’t it? I must admit, I don’t feel I’ve been doing this lately. Life has felt a bit of a battle but I’m aware of it and would love to shift it.

Right back at you, beyond grateful for you (and Wrenna!)
